• Account registration data (name, email address, password)
• Resume content (work history, education, skills, contact details)
• LinkedIn post content and accomplishment descriptions
• Billing and payment information (processed securely by Lemon Squeezy)

Information collected automatically:

• Usage analytics via Google Analytics (page views, feature usage, session data)
• Browser type, operating system, and IP address
• Cookies and similar tracking technologies

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the CareerKit service
• Process AI-generated content using your resume data and accomplishments
• Manage your account, billing, and subscription
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset)
• Improve our product based on aggregated usage analytics
• Comply with legal obligations

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure (EU/US hosting)
• Google (Gemini API) — AI model used to generate LinkedIn posts; your accomplishment text is sent to process your request
• Lemon Squeezy — payment processing; your payment data is processed under their PCI-DSS compliance
• Vercel — hosting and edge infrastructure
• Google Analytics — anonymized usage analytics

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data (resumes, LinkedIn posts, billing records) is permanently deleted within 30 days. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Danger Zone.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data (right to erasure)
• Object to or restrict processing of your data
• Data portability (receive your data in a machine-readable format)

We use essential cookies for authentication sessions and optional analytics cookies (Google Analytics). You can disable analytics cookies by using a browser extension such as uBlock Origin or by opting out via Google Analytics Opt-out.

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords (via Supabase Auth), and row-level security on our database. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

CareerKit is not directed to individuals under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, by emailing registered users. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
