Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CareerKit at carrerkit.io ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. We may update these terms at any time; continued use constitutes acceptance.

2. Description of Service

CareerKit provides an AI-powered resume builder and LinkedIn post generator. The Service includes access to resume templates, PDF export, and AI-generated content via Google Gemini. Features vary by subscription plan (Free, Professional, Enterprise).

3. Account Registration

To use CareerKit, you must:

  • Be at least 16 years of age
  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Keep your password confidential and notify us immediately of unauthorized access
  • Be responsible for all activity under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

CareerKit offers a free tier and paid subscription plans billed monthly. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges through Lemon Squeezy, our payment processor.

  • Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period
  • You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period
  • We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods unless required by law
  • Prices may change with 30 days' notice to active subscribers

5. Your Content

You retain full ownership of all content you create using CareerKit (resumes, posts, etc.). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and process your content solely to provide the Service to you.

You are responsible for ensuring your content does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws. We do not review user-created content and are not responsible for it.

6. AI-Generated Content

The LinkedIn post generator uses Google Gemini AI. You acknowledge that:

  • AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your purpose
  • You are solely responsible for reviewing and editing generated content before publishing
  • We make no warranties regarding the accuracy, legality, or effectiveness of AI output
  • Your input data is processed by Google's infrastructure per their privacy policies

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any regulations
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or extract data from the platform
  • Upload malicious code or attempt to disrupt the Service
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Use the Service to generate spam, misleading, or harassing content
  • Exceed plan limits through technical workarounds

8. Intellectual Property

The CareerKit platform, including its design, code, templates, and branding, is owned by CareerKit and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be suitable for any particular purpose. Use of the Service is at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CareerKit shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or lost career opportunities. Our total liability to you for any claims shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.

11. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately for violations of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases and your data will be deleted per our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law.
